Welcome!
I am both proud and humbled to be seeking your support for my election to the Washington State House of Representatives from the 1st Legislative District.
I have chosen this path because I have a passion and belief that I can make a positive difference for the people of our District and State. I am committed to tackling the critical issues that face us.
As a political and community activist in Snohomish County for over three decades, I have direct knowledge of our mutual concerns. Residents of the 1st Legislative District have had strong Democratic representation for the past few elections and I aim to keep that tradition going.
Use this web site to learn about my background, the important issues I feel that we are facing, to communicate with me, and to learn how you can help.
Working together, I feel that we WILL make a difference!
Thank you,

From Publicola's endorsement of Luis Moscoso for 1st LD Representative, Pos. 2:
http://www.publicola.net/2010/07/29/publicola-picks-luis-moscoso-for-state-rep-1st-district/
"Democrat Luis Moscoso is a dialed-in activist who has worked with the Snohomish County Citizens Committee for Human Rights, the Washington Public Employees Association. He is endorsed by the Snohomish County Executive and a majority of the county council. His top issues are public transportation (a critical issue in the sprawling 1st District, which encompasses northeast King County and south Snohomish County, including areas of Bothell, Woodinville, Mountlake Terrace, and Brier) energy efficiency, and college affordability. Luis Moscoso has environmental credentials with the endorsement of the Sierra Club. These credentials are well earned from many years of political activism for human beings and the environment. We are blessed to live in a beautiful part of the world. Luis is committed to keeping it that way and working with others to clean it up where we can. Luis shares the following priorities of the Cascade Chapter of the Sierra Club:
- Promoting clean transportation options
- Keeping our air and water clean
- Increasing the use of alternative (renewable) energy sources
- Promoting energy efficiency construction
- Working toward the cleanup of the Hanford Nuclear Reservation
- Protecting wildlife and forests in Washington state
"One of the most intensive questionnaires that I've had to fill out this in the course of this campaign has to be the questionnaire from the Sierra Club. I took my time and studied up on issues that I wasn't already aware of."
If you want laws that will help solve the problem of global warming, protect clean water, clean air and our parks and forests vote for Luis!

We've just received notice that Luis has received the endorsement of the WASHINGTON STATE PATROL TROOPERS ASSOCIATION for his "understanding of public safety matters" and for his "commitment to service to the state of Washington." Thank you to the WA State Patrol Troopers Association for their recognition of Luis' long-time commitment to public service and public safety.
Upon moving to Mountlake Terrace in 1994 Luis volunteered and worked at the award winning anti-gang program Neutral Zone. He was asked to join the Board of Directors in 1995 and was later elected Board Secretary. Later, Luis also served on the Mountlake Terrace Community Policing Advisory Board. Again, he was asked to join the board due to his interest in law enforcement issues and worked closely with Chief Turner to raise awareness of Hate Crime issues.

Two months ago over a dozen volunteers turned out to launch our door belling campaign. This was coordinated with the Washington State Young Democrats who selected this campaign for their first "Invasion" of the political season. Since then more volunteers from as far away as Tacoma, Seattle and Everett have joined Luis in canvassing 31 precincts, helping him knock on nearly 5,000 doors so far.
Another 32 campaign volunteers joined Luis in the Bothell 4th of July Parade. They marched with a new campaign banner, eight red, white & blue pennants on 10 foot poles, a patriotically decorated car, bike & kiddie cart and a little red wagon all sporting campaign signs.
These great volunteers make the difference in our campaign. Please join them in this grass roots effort to support a great candidate and the working families in the 1st Legislative District. |

Luis Moscoso wants to thank all the folks who came to our Summer Solstice Soirée last night. Mike Dumovich and Gary Kanter provided some outstanding acoustic music, political musings and, most of all, genuine friendship. This campaign got a real boost from the comaraderie we all share in this progressive movement.
